What is the best antivirus, anti spyware and regristry fixer out on the market right now? I had norton 360 but it really sucked and I need something really good because my computer is acting weird after defragging and cleaning it up. I have yahoo antispy and it removed some trojans but thats all it picked up! Any ideas? Thanks.

- You need both Anti-Virus and Anti-Spy/Malware (AV/AS) solutions for complete coverage. As to the FREE products, Avira's Antivir has a detection rate of over 99%, includes "root-kit" protection, and uses less system resources. Avast detection rate is around 97.8% and includes "root-kit" protection. Avast Anti-Virus is good if people suggest that, Avira is just slightly better. Many people praise AVG, but AVG’s detection rate is less than 85% for Script Malware and General Malware, and does NOT include "root-kit" protection in the FREE version…plus, slower scan speeds and a higher number of "false positives". A good FREE AV/AS mix could be Avira or Avast, with Malwarebytes and AdAware). Or, a good BUY/FREE AV/AS mix could be Kaspersky or Nod32, with Malwarebytes and AdAware). I’m also considering the new VIPRE as a possible BUY next time based on early reports. - For the first two, the best ones are free: AVG Free Spybot Search & Destroy as for registry fixer, I am not sure. you might consider looking at PCWorld.com for more information
- I have used Zone Alarm Firewall, I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I have just changed to Avast antivirus and all seems good so far. Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
- www.removethebadstuff.blogspot.com it shows you how to remove viruses trojans worms rootkits and fix your computer it tells you the best ones too and Advanced System care is currently the best reg cleaner
- Try Spyware Doctor. It has antivirus and antispyware included in there. For a registry cleaner I like Regcure. Find these programs at http://www.spyware-review.net Best of luck, Bob
