- You are infected and need to go to: www.geek.com Good site.
- I would recommend getting norton internet security software. My computer got infected by spyware and adware, norton removed it easily.
- Get and run Microsoft Defender. Windows Defender is free from Microsoft. Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx Next Get and run AVG antivirus. It is also free. Download AVG anti Virus free here – http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_2-10503939.html?tag=lst-0-2
- your just gonna have to buy something for it. I havn't found anything that works for free. I had that problem the other day, but now I have it all cleared up. Good luck. I know how bad it sucks. Just google spyware but I honestly don't think you can find something good unless you plan on spending at least $20.00 but you can use it over and over so I think its worth it.
- download ADAWARE (free) from : http://www.lavasoft.de and it will easily remove the spyware and prevent further infestations.
- Ouch, your browser has been hijacked! You can try running some antispyware programs such as Windows Defender which you can download for free using the link below however most anti-spy programs work better in protecting you from getting hijacked, rather than fixing the hijacked problem that already exists. If I were you, I would back up your hard-drive and re-image it by reinstalling the operating system and starting fresh. THAN download Windows Defenfer. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en Please note, Windows Defender will need a valdate your operaring system to insure it's authenticate so don't try to install it if you're using a bootleg OS.
- AdAware from lavasoft.com
- You can download a small program called Ccleaner (Crap Cleaner) and it does a great job and it can cleanup your registry also. It is freeware
- use an spyware protection and scan revomal, I use Microsoft AntiSpy Ware & AdAware SE Personal, they work great and there free as long as you keep it, its free scan and updates,:-)
- avg antivirus - spybotsearch & destroy -adawere - zone alarm firewall. all are free at pcworld.com and you need all and then run each. to clean your pc.will work dont need to buy anything.did it for me.good luck
- You need to now follow these instructions very carefully: 1) back up any important personal files you may want to keep onto a CD. 2) Reformat your hard drive completely. 3) Right after you reload your operating system onto your computer and before you connect to the internet. Install the most updated versions of both Norton Anti-Spyware and Spysweeper. 4) Connect to the internet and download any updates for Norton, then reboot, and continue to check Norton for any updates until you are satisfied you got them all. Then download all updates for Spysweeper and reboot and try and get more updates until you see that you have all updates for that. Then go to Windows-Updates and download all updates for windows and reboot etc. until you have gotten all those updates done. Then feel free to browse the web. Simply trying to remove any form of spyware at this point is useless unless you have a degree in computer hardware and software. Simply removing the files isn't enough because the spyware/virus has already done the damage it set out to do. Unfortunatly there is no other solution and if you don't follow those steps carefully your poor computer is doomed to a life of failures until you get so mad at it you go out and buy a new one. And even then unless you immediately install the above referenced things before you connect to the internet, you will have the same problems again and again. Good Luck!
- try www.hijack this and www.ccleaner.com Run a complete virus scan after and make sure you updated your virus definitions beforehand.
- Unfortunately with todays malware it is important to use a whole battery of programs to get adequate protection. These are my recommendations, all of which are free but still excellent products: Antivirus: Avast (Free) : http://www.avast.com Antitrojan: Ewido (14 day trial but excellent so had to include) - http://www.ewido.net/en/ Antispyware/antiAdware: Spybot Search and Destroy - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ Tutorial for spybot: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial43.html Lavasoft Ad-aware SE Personal - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ Tutorialfor ad-aware: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial48.html SpywareBlaster - http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html Tutorial for spywareblaster: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial49.html The Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx Tutorial for MSAS: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial98.html Firewall: Kerio Free: http://www.kerio.com/kpf_download.html And a tutorial on good practices on staying safe on the internet: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial82.html If you think you may be still infected after using the below programs and want an expert to help you for free, you can post a hijackthis log at my forum.
