What is the most reliable & inexpensive anti-virus/anti-spyware programs out there?

I am looking for anti-virus & anti-spyware programs that are super efficient but don't sap your wallet or bank account of your dough. Please, NO fraud sofware. I know there are people who false advertise crappy software.

  4. I've been a Norton customer for years. As for price -- I look for ads and specials in our weekly paper -- Office Max, Office Depot, Computer City, CompUSA, Best Buy -- I caught a one-day special for Norton 2007 3-license for $9.99. Can't beat that.

  8. I totally love the free SpyBot Search & Destroy, which you can get FREE from http://www.download.com But I also use ad-aware. You see, you can use a combination of anti-spyware sweep programs to ensure that you got everything that might bring you harm.
